There have been meetings at the Greece Ministry for Health looking at the feasibility of upgrading the emergency evacuation of patients from the Islands of Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos and Skyros.
The meeting ended with the agreement that a specialised Ambulance Boat would be procured to allow patients to receive medical assistance whist en route to the Mainland. A very positive step and in the long run possibly cheaper and more effective than the use of helicopter evacuation.
