Clampdown on Airbnb properties by Greek Tax Authorities

The Greek Tax Office is now using specially designed software to scan airbnb properties for lease. So if you do have property advertised through airbnb please make sure that you are properly registered especially for tax purposes and for leasing property.

Income tax on income from short-term leases are calculated based on the following scale:

for income up to 12,000 euros with 15%,

for income from 12001-35000 euro at the rate of 35%

for income from 35 001 euro and up 45%
