The LIFE DREAM initiative is a research project managed by CNR – ISMAR (Institute of Marine Sciences of the Italian National Research Council). It receives funding from the European Union's LIFE 2021-2027 programme (sub-programme “Nature and Biodiversity”) and focuses on the conservation and restoration of deep-sea reefs. The program operates in regions of Italy, Spain, and Greece. Its objectives include safeguarding and rehabilitating deep-sea ecosystems using innovative and sustainable methods, removing marine litter from these environments, advancing the circular economy by recycling and reusing the extracted marine litter, and educating and raising awareness among the public and relevant authorities about marine life conservation.
