Good news, this reinforces Greece's commitment to our own Marine Park
At the UN Ocean Conference in Nice, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis revealed plans for Greece to create two new national marine parks—one located in the Ionian Sea and another in the southern Cyclades—by the month's end. This initiative seeks to surpass international conservation goals, prohibit trawling in all marine parks, and designate 10% of national waters as no-fishing zones, thereby strengthening Greece's role in marine biodiversity protection and sustainable maritime policy.
